Jakarta, USANEWS360 – The National Zakat Agency (Baznas), in collaboration with public figure Ivan Gunawan, has dispatched the first batch of humanitarian aid to Gaza, Palestine, on September 1–2. The delivery consisted of 25,000 liters of clean water and 800 ready-to-eat meals for residents affected by the ongoing crisis.
“Water is the source of life. Without clean water, our brothers and sisters in Gaza face a serious health and survival crisis. Food is also essential, as it provides the energy needed in emergencies,” said Baznas Chairman Noor Achmad in a statement received on Thursday.
Achmad emphasized that the aid reflects Indonesia’s deep concern and solidarity with Palestine, describing it as a collective effort to ease the suffering of the people.
“Every liter of water and every meal they receive is an expression of love from Indonesians. This is a joint commitment to stand with Gaza,” he added.
Baznas also pledged to continue the aid program, ensuring that future batches reach more Palestinians while maintaining transparent reporting for donors.
On the same occasion, Achmad expressed gratitude to Ivan Gunawan and the Indonesian public for their collaboration and trust.
Ivan Gunawan, the renowned fashion designer, shared his appreciation for the successful delivery of the first aid batch and announced that he plans to personally deliver the second batch.
“Insha Allah, on September 8 I will personally deliver your donations via Egypt. Please pray for my safety and health throughout the journey,” Ivan said.
The first aid distribution covered five strategic locations in Gaza: Abu Hasirah Port, Al Sheikh Radwan, Al Rasheed, Palestine Stadium, and Al Moataz Tower. A total of 1,582 people benefited, each receiving an average of 16 liters of clean water. Meanwhile, the food packages were distributed to 800 people in Palestine Camp and Al Ikhwa Camp.
